Why Dhurandhar Refuses to Slow Down at the Box Office

By Akash Dubey

Sometimes a film’s real story is not on screen, but at the ticket window. Dhurandhar is a strong example of how steady growth can matter more than loud opening-day hype.

The journey began on 5 December 2025 with a confident ₹28.6 crore opening in India. Each day of the opening weekend showed clear growth and by Sunday night the film had crossed the ₹100 crore mark. This upward curve suggested genuine audience interest rather than a one-time rush.

Weekdays often reveal a film’s true strength. Even films that have had strong openings usually see a visible drop once the weekend ends. Dhurandhar, however, broke this pattern. Shows continued to run nearly full across many cities and collections remained stable through the week. By the end of its first seven days, the film had already crossed ₹218 crore in India. By Day 10 (14 December), the figure had climbed close to ₹350 crore.

This consistency points to strong word of mouth, repeat viewing and the film’s appeal as a large-scale theatrical experience.

As the weeks passed, the momentum did not fade. Within three weeks, the film crossed ₹650 crore India net and entered the ₹1000 crore club worldwide. Even in its fifth and sixth weeks, it continued to draw audiences, an increasingly rare achievement in today’s fast-moving release cycle.

By mid-January 2026, Dhurandhar had collected over ₹860 crore in India and more than ₹1300 crore worldwide, placing it among the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time.

More than the records, it was the consistency that defined this run. Dhurandhar did not race to success. It built it, one day at a time.
